Longmont Youth Council, Children and Youth Resources Division

The Longmont Youth
Council was established by the Longmont City Council to encourage greater
youth participation in the City's government, and is charged with actively
advising the City Council with thoughtful recommendations on issues concerning
youth and assisting City Staff in considering youth perspectives in its planning
efforts.
Youth Council Grant
The Longmont Youth Council, an advisory board comprised of teens who bring awareness to and try to resolve youth issues in the community, will be opening its first Grant Season of 2013 on February 3rd at 8 AM. The season will conclude on May 4th at 5 PM, with grant applications reviewed as they are received. Grants are given to organizations in Longmont that work with school-age youth (ages 5-18) in order to make a positive change, improve, or provide a benefit to our community. The Longmont Youth Council provides grants of up to $500. Groups applying for a grant must be able to spend the money by the end of the 2013 calendar year. Follow up to make sure the groups spend their grants appropriately will be made. We look forward to hearing from other youth groups in the Longmont area and we wish you the best of luck with your application.
