Household Hazardous Chemical Drop-Off Day, Annual Programs

- Saturday, September 14th, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
Public Works Solid Waste Operations hosts a Household Chemical Drop-Off Day
once a year at the Public Works Maintenance Facility located at 375 Airport
Road. Longmont residents may bring unwanted cleaners, solvents, pesticides,
aerosol cans, paint and other chemical wastes for disposal at no additional
charge. You must bring a City of Longmont utility bill to the Household Chemical
Drop as the program is only available to City Refuse Collection Customers.
Chemists will be on-site to identify and properly dispose of many types of
household hazardous chemicals.
Items Not Accepted
- commercial generated
wastes of any kind such as: biological/medical wastes
- expired medicines
- radioactive materials
- compressed gas cylinders (propane, butane)
- explosives or
ammunitions
- fire extinguishers
Year Round Household Hazardous Chemical Drop-Off Location
The City of Longmont Public Works Solid Waste Operations also contributes
to a year-round Household Hazardous Waste drop-off in Boulder County. Longmont
residents can take hazardous chemicals to the facility at 1901 63rd Street in Boulder. Please bring
a City of Longmont utility bill to the Household Hazardous Waste facility,
as the program is available at no cost to City refuse collection customers
only. Some restrictions apply, so call the Boulder County Household Hazardous
Waste program at 303-441-4800 for more information about disposing of hazardous
chemicals and to verify their hours of operation.
