NOW ACCEPTING PLASTIC BAGS FOR RECYCLING
AT THE WASTE DIVERSION CENTER
Beginning on Earth Day April 20th 2013, You can recycle your plastic bags at
the Waste Diversion Center on Martin St.
- Includes plastic shopping and newspaper bags, ziplock bags, dry cleaner bags
- MUST be clean, dry, and empty of all food, receipts, etc. with tape and stickers removed
- NO plastic food wrap, black trash bags or bubble wrap
- Simply drive up to the window attendant and they will assist you Monday thru Saturday from 8:30am - 5:45pm

Hard To Recycle Event
Waste Diversion Center - 140 Martin St
June 22nd from 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
The Hard-To-Recycle collection event is designed to help you recycle items that are not allowed
in your curbside recycling cart. Items accepted at the hard to recycle collection include electronics,
computers, televisions, cell phones, white foam block (styrofoam) and many other items.
There is a charge for some items. Please check Ecocycle’s web site at ecocycle.org/charm to
see a detailed list of items accepted and appropriate fees for certain items, or call
the Public Works & Natural Resources Call Center at 303-651-8416.
Backyard Compost Bin Sale
City of Longmont is hosting a backyard compost bin sale beginning Earth Day,
Saturday April 20th at the Waste Diversion Center
- A limited number of SoilSaver backyard compost bins are available for $64 each
- Only checks and cash will be accepted
- Bins will be sold on a first-come, first-served basis
- Simply drive up to the window attendant and they will assist you

City of Longmont Shredding Events
In response to the needs of our residents, our dedication to
preserving our environment, and to help protect your identity,
we are pleased to announce that we will be holding monthly document shredding events at the City of Longmont Recycle Center throughout 2013!
Shredded material is recyclable, but not accepted in your curbside single-stream recycling cart.
These events let Longmont residents conveniently recycle sensitive documents in a manner that maintains efficient operation of the processing center.
