Longmont's eAlert Subscription System

Longmont eAlert, Signup NowLongmont's eAlert System is an automated subscription notification system. It is a valuable resource for receiving timely information about the Longmont government news, programs, services, meetings and more.

You can receive information via email, telephone, cell phone and/or fax depending upon the list.

Question How do I register?

To sign up for the service go to: http://webapp2.ci.longmont.co.us/selectalert, and look for the "New User?" heading. Click the "Please register here if you do not have an account' link.

Account activation is a three (3) step process. Create your account using a valid email address, provide contact information, confirm your subscription when you receive the confirmation email from our system.

If you do not provide a valid email address, or you have a SPAM Filtering program (example: Earthlink or Mindspring users) which blocks the confirmation email, then you may not be able to 'complete' the registration process successfully.

Once you have completed the above 'screens', click on "Create New Account" link. This will prompt the system to send you a confirmation email to the email account you provided. When you receive that email, you MUST click on the link provided to 'validate' your email address.

Question Can I receive an Instant Text Message from the system?

Yes. Although the message may be cut off if it's longer than what the SMS (Short Message Service) allows.

To receive an email on your telephone, your telephone needs to be able to receive SMS. Then you would make sure that you list the email address for your phone in your account in the appropriate 10-digit telephone number format.

As of 03/02/11, Below are the cell phone numbers expressed as an email for the each carrier:

T-Mobile Example: 3031234567@tmomail.net
Verizon Example: 5552223333@vtext.com
Sprint Example: 2125551234@messaging.sprintpcs.com
Nextel Example: 7035551234@messaging.nextel.com
AT&T Example: 2125551212@txt.att.net
Cricket Example: 3031234567@sms.mycricket.com
MyBoost Example: 3031234567@myboostmobile.com

 

Question How do I manage my account?

Once you have validated the account, you can now log back into the system.

Visit the main login screen, enter your e-mail and password in the 'Already Registered?' section and click the "Login' button.

You will then be logged into your account.

Question How do I edit my contact information or telephone numbers?

Sign in to your account, then select the 'Edit My Account' tab.

From this Menu window, select the 'Edit My Account Information' link to add or remove your contact information (address, phone number, email address, etc.)

Question Need to change your password?


Sign in to your account, then click the 'Change Password' link.

Question Forgot your password?

Click "Have it emailed to you" from here or from the main log-in page.

Question How can I change my Contact Settings/Times?

Sign in to your account, under the "Edit My Account" tab, select the "Change Contact Times" link.

A new window will be displayed allowing you to modify the following settings for your account.

Question How do I Subscribe or Unsubscribe to Alerts?

Sign in to your account, then select the 'Edit My Alerts' tab.

From this window, either select or deselect the "Alerts" by clicking under the appropriate media types (example: "Email" or "Telephone'). If you see a GREEN CHECKMARK in any box next to that Alert category, this means you have chosen to receive that specific Alert.

To read a brief description of each subscription available, click on the Title of the Alert.

Question How do I close and delete my Account completely?

Sign in to your account, select the 'Edit My Account' tab, then click on the 'Remove Account' link.
Note: If you select "Remove Account", you will be immediately deleted from the system and will have to register as a new user again.
