   <title>Longmont to Plow Residential Streets on Saturday</title>

   <description>Beginning Saturday, Feb. 4, city crews will begin to make one pass through the residential streets. In order to plow one lane through the residential streets the snow crews will postpone clearing most trails and greenways over the weekend, but the work on trails and greenways will resume on Monday. The city crews will work with a contractor beginning early Saturday morning to clear snow from the downtown area. This will entail hauling snow from the core downtown section of the city.    <title>RTD Officials to Discuss FasTracks with City Council</title>

   <description>RTD will provide an update to the joint City Council/TAB assembly on current costs with various options, allowing City Council and TAB to provide further policy direction on the RTD options on Wednesday, Wednesday, February 8 at 7 pm in the Safety and Justice Center, 225 Kimbark St. Over the past two months, the Regional Transportation District (RTD) has provided information to the entities along the NW Rail corridor on the recent cost increases requested the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (BNSF) Railroad to construct the FasTracks project. The increases have raised the total project costs for NW Rail from just under $900 million a year ago to $1.7 billion (year of expenditure) in the 2012 cost estimates for FasTracks.

   <title>RTD Schedule Changes Beginning Next Sunday</title>

   <description>There will be changes to four RTD routes in Longmont beginning Sunday, January 22. Route 323, a “local” route that runs from Twin Peaks Mall via Ken Pratt Blvd. to downtown and 8th &amp;amp; Coffman, the OUR Center, Salud Clinic, Skyline High School and 17th &amp;amp; Pace will change from service every 30 minutes to service every 60 minutes. Additionally, the “regional” bus routes serving Boulder, CU and Denver (the BOLT, J and L routes respectively) will no longer pick up passengers on Hover Street or 21st Avenue. These routes all will start passenger service at 23rd Avenue west of Main Street, with the regular bus stop pick-ups/drop-offs south of 23rd Avenue. RTD also will add a trial bus run from Lyons to Longmont in the morning and back to Lyons from Longmont in the evening. This new express bus route will be called the YL.    <description>Through Thursday, January 5, there are four satellite locations where you can drop off your Christmas tree to be recycled: Roosevelt Park - parking lot south of 8th Ave., Garden Acres Park - west side of parking lot off 18th Ave., Kanemoto Park - parking lot off of S. Pratt Pkwy., and Centennial Park - east parking lot off of Alpine St. Please remove all holiday decorations and lights. You also can recycle your tree at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin St., during regular business hours: Monday through Wednesday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Thursday through Saturday, 8:30 am to 5:45 pm.
