Loss control includes:
- investigation
- adjustment and case management of property, liability and workers' compensation claims
Loss financing includes:
- review of agreements, contracts and project proposals to determine liability
exposures
- ensuring appropriate transfer of liability and purchasing of insurance
- tracing of loss history and exposure data to determine future self-insurance
financing requirements and loss prevention needs
Loss prevention includes:
- identification of potential hazards and recommending ways of eliminating
or reducing risk
- providing safety related research and consultation
- providing Citywide safety program training, including subjects such as;
- new employee safety orientations
- Bloodborne Pathogen avoidance
- first aid/CPR
- confined space entry
- drug and alcohol abuse
- defensive driving
- identifying and remediating hazardous conditions and accident investigation
techniques.
Other services include:
- collection of monies due the City for damage to City property
- administration of non-worked related alternative duty program
- administration of driver license certification and re-certification
- maintenance of employees' infectious disease control records and tri-annual
health screenings
- coordination of wellness programs
- coordination of the Citywide safety committee
- investigation of accidents and safety concerns of employees and citizens,
and providing facility and task inspections.
