LYTC-Longmont Youth Triathlon Club
Longmont Recreation Services offers the Longmont Youth Triathlon Club for Youth in the Spring and Summer to develop swimming, cycling and running abilities while promoting a healthy, active lifestyle - all while having fun! For all youth ages 8 years and older.
2012 Youth Triathlon Clinics:
Prepare for the Longmont Kids Only Triathlon by learning about and practicing biking, swimming and running skills.
Ages: 7-17
Days: Saturdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm

Run - February 11, 2012, code: 6263.102
Bike - March 17, 2012 code: 6263.210
2012 Spring Training Times/Dates:
April 3 - June 1, 2012
Come by to get a sign up packet at Centennial Pool, 1201 Alpine St.
Two groups will be offered: beginning and advanced.
- advanced bikers (permission of instructor or ability to consistently bike over 14 mph)
- beginning bikers (those with little experience and/or bike under 14 mph)

Be prepared for possible changes in schedule due to weather.
Brick workouts (brick workouts are training on two sports during the same workout).
2012 Club Fees/Dues
Club dues will not be prorated during the season for vacations, sick days, personal days, etc. Club dues may be prorated for extended illnesses or injuries.

Illness/Weather Policy
Illness: Unless your child is ill for an extended period of time, you do not have
to call to let us know they will be missing a practice. An extended period of time is defined as missing more than one full week of practice. If your child is ill for an extended period please contact Karen by e-mail or call (303) 651-8406 to notify for a possible credit.
Weather: Meet at Centennial Pool regardless of the weather. If it is too wet to ride we can always practice running and/or swimming skills, transitions, dryland/core workouts, or view training videos.
2011 Summer Coaching Staff
Jim Hallberg, 2009 & 2010 Overall Winner of the Boulder Ironman Series, is the primary coach for the advanced group. Jim will be focusing on providing a strong competitive component for our higher performing young triathletes.
Kim Hager, Loren Twy, and Gabe Murray will round out the full summer 2011 coaching staff.
