Description of Fitness Classes
The City of Longmont offers a wide
variety of fitness classes and events. Prior to starting any type of fitness
or conditioning program it is best to first check with your doctor. Participation
on a regular basis is recommended for proper conditioning. Schedules may change monthly. Download current schedule from fitness page.

Abs & Arms - All levels. Upper body and core training at its finest! 45 minutes is all you need to work these areas to fatigue. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Ball Blast - Intermediate. Using a fitball, discover the new way to train your body while developing strength, increasing flexibility and toning your muscles. All abilities welcome. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Beginning Bike and More $$ - A low impact, slower paced ride for 15-20 minutes followed by a stretch, strength and toning program for 15-20 minutes. Tuesday and Thursday, monthly sessions.
Centennial Pool
Bike-N-Sculpt - All Levels. No impact,
high intensity stationary bike workout with the addition of sculpting exercises. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Boot Camp- Advanced. No choreography,
but driving music for high intensity interval sports conditioning and calisthenics. Location-Longmont Recreation Center
Butts & Gutts - Intermediate.
Lower body and core training at its finest. 45 minutes is all you need to
work these areas to fatigue. Location-Longmont Recreation Center
Cardio Kickboxing - Advanced. Kick boxing moves and other heart-pumping cardio exercises, incorporated with alternating periods of higher and lower levels of intensity. Location - Longmont Recreation Center.
Cardio/Sculpt - Intermediate. A powerful cardio and sculpting class that has cardio components and uses combined muscular strength and endurance exercises. Location - Longmont Recreation Center and St Vrain Memorial Building.
Core Plus - All levels. Working abs, glutes, legs and arms: this class does it all! Location - Longmont Recreation Center and Centennial Pool.
Indoor Cycling - All Levels. No impact,
high intensity stationary bike workout. Instructor leads class with music
over varying terrain. 45-minute class at the Longmont Recreation Center, 60-min class at Centennial Pool.
Limited bikes available. Class card, available 30 minutes prior to class start, required at Longmont Recreation Center. Location -Longmont Recreation Center & Centennial Pool.
Jazzercise $$ - All Levels. Aerobics dance, Yoga, Pilates and Kickboxing movements set into a fun routine. Please check-in with Jazzercise - a separate table will be set up for them at the facility. For more information, call (720) 494-0312. Location: Longmont Recreation Center and St Vrain Memorial Building.
$32 - Electronic Funds Transfer Per Month + $30 joining fee
$80 - Eight week pass + $30 joining fee
$7 - One class: walk-in pricing
Latin Aerobics - All levels. A Latin American dance fitness class that will challenge your cardio and coordination skills. Dance styles include Salsa, Rumba, Samba and Flamenco. Come find out why students are raving about this class! No dance partner required. Location - St Vrain Memorial Building

NIA- (Neuromuscular Integrative
Action) - All Levels. A dynamic cardiovascular workout combining dance, martial arts and
yoga. This joyous barefoot blend class promotes fitness, vitality and a sense
of well being. All classes 75 minutes. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Gentle NIA - A self-guided, adaptable and safe form of dance. NIA addresses the whole person using a comprehensive, holistic exercise approach designed with a combination of classic movement forms: Martial Arts, Dance Arts and Healing Arts. Location - St Vrain Memorial Building
Meditative NIA - Class using breath work, simple choreography, and inspiring music to enhance the mind-body connection..an important time of guided reflection and a great way to start the week! Location - Longmont Recreation Center.(2nd and 4th Saturdays of each Month,
Time 1-2:15pm)
New to NIA? - Ever wonder what NIA is about? In this special class you’ll learn the theory and steps you’ll see in any NIA class. With this knowledge and experience you’ll feel more comfortable in any NIA class. Free with regular facility admission. Location - Longmont Recreation Center (3rd Saturday of each Month / Time 1-2:15pm)
Family NIA - Share the fun and playfulness of your NIA class with your children. It’s a fun, cardiovascular, energizing, and creative way to spend time with your family! Ages 5+, all children must be accompanied by an adult. Location - Longmont Recreation Center (1st Saturday of each Month,
Time 1-2:15pm)
Pilyoga - Beginner. A sculpting and stretching class using a combination of Yoga poses and Pilates core conditioning. Location- Longmont Rec Center, & St. Vrain Memorial Building.
Power of 3 - Beginner.The class starts with a cardio section, followed by a sculpting section and ends with a final stretch using relaxation techniques. It employs the three basic components of fitness while constantly evolving and changing to keep you motivated. Location - Centennial Pool, Longmont Recreation Center, and St. Vrain Memorial Building
Sculpt & Tone - A sculpting class for beginners to intermediate that keeps moving from one exercise to another. Location - Longmont Recreation Center and St Vrain Memorial Building

Step/Step & Condition - Intermediate. A low impact aerobic class with step choreography on 4"-8" high
step platform. Interval forman includes alternating steps and weights/sculpting.
Location-Longmont Recreation Center, St Vrain Memorial Building.
Small Group Training $$ - Join Personal Trainer Alison Zemanek, for this small group class that will get you on trach to reach your fitness/weight goals. Location - Centennial Pool
Tai Chi - Beginner. Tai Chi combines fluid movements of the upper and lower body to produce a subtle and powerful full-body exercise. In this class you will learn a set of moves that compose the "24 Form" of the Yang Style. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
TRX $$ - A distinct training system that uses your own body weight and gravity as resistance. This training system is unique, simple to perform, but challenging as every movement requires balance and core strength. Don't have these yet? TRX will develop them and take care of any neglected muscle groups your regular program misses. This program is a great supplemental workout for athletes or a stand alone program for every fitness level It is a true total body workout! Location - Centennial Pool
Tri-Bike/Core Plus- All Levels. These classes are designed to prepare you for a successful spring and summer season whether you are interested as an individual athlete or multi-sport, beginner or advanced.They are created to give a quality workout, increase strength, endurance, improve biking technique, as well as give guidance toward a systematic approach to training. Zumba® - The program combines Latin and international music with dance in an effort to make exercise fun. Aerobic interval training with a combination of rhythms that tone and sculpt the body. Zumba classes are offered through licensed instructors only. Location - Longmont Recreation Center and St. Vrain Memorial Building (class is limited depending on the class space- 1st come first serve)

Water Fitness Class Descriptions - All water classes suitable for all fitness levels.
Aquatic Cross Training - A program using deep and shallow water with intervals and strength training optimized for weight loss. Location - Centennial Pool
Aqua Power- A high intensity,
predominately shallow water, running and cardiovascular interval class designed
to burn 500-700 calories in an hour and target buns,thighs and abs. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Aqua Motion - A mild, no "bounce" class for stretching and toning
muscles and improving cardiovascular conditioning, CORE stability and joint
mobility. Performed using the current of the Lazy River and the warmer water
for improved joint action.This is a great class if you have arthritis, joint limitations or replacements, or if you are pregnant. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Deep H2O - A moderate
intensity water aerobics class with no impact to the joints. If you want to
attain a higher level of fitness, but avoid "land impact aerobics",
this class is for you. Floatation belts are provided for those who are uncomfortable
in deep water. Location - Longmont Recreation Center and Centennial Pool
Hydro2ga - A therapeutic,
progressive no-impact deep water exercise program. The combination of water,
breath and movement creates a relaxing, strengthening, toning & aerobic
exercise. There is an additional fee for this class. Location - Centennial Pool
H2O Fitness - A high intensity combination aerobic class involving different workout (Aqua Step, Kickboxing, Circuit Training). A great class for those who like a lot of variety and enjoy using different equipment in their aquatic workout. Location - Longmont Recreation Center
Masters Swimming - Improve your skills and stamina through intervals, drills and distance swimming. Recommended for adults who are comfortable swimming at least 1,000 yards non-stop. Location - Longmont Recreation Center and Sunset Pool
Beginning Masters Swimming - Not quite ready for Masters Swimming? Beginning Masters can get you there! While catering to your individual needs, you will receive stroke work plus a great workout. This program is recommended for adults who are comfortable swimming 200 yards non-stop. Location - Centennial Pool
Morning Fitness - Start your
days off right with a great, fun workout! Aerobic conditioning is what this
class is all about. Location -Longmont Recreation Center
