Longmont Recreation Services offers a wide range of knitting classes for both the beginning and the intermediate knitter. Knitting classes are appropriate for teens ages 14 through adult. Classes will either require an additional materials fee for all materials to be provided, or will provide a supply list for students to bring to class. Knit an Alpaca Vest
You will want to make yourself one in every color once you find out how cozy and soft this vest is. Ribbed pattern flatters every body type. Previous knitting experience is required. Materials fee of $70 payable to instructor is due at class. Ages 14 to adult

Knitting with Beads
Experiment with adding beads to your knitting. Beads are added to a scarf to add sparkle
and fun. Previous knitting experience required. Material fee of $26 due at class includes

Felted Peruvian Hat
In this class you will be using circular needles to knit an alpaca hat in the round. Techniques include increasing stitches for ear flap shaping, knitting in the round, 2 color knitting and decreasing. A $57 material fee is payable to instructor at first class. Previous knitting experience is required.

Knit a Cabled Headband
Need to liven up your knitting? Experiment with cables on a small project. Your one skein of soft baby alpaca yarn is enough to make two headbands. A materials fee of $17.50 is due at class. A great gift idea!

Short Row Scarf

Margie's Felted Pouch
Using double knit technique and alpaca yarn, knit a pouch with I-cord strap and a stone
button of your choosing. Materials fee of $32 due at class. Recent previous knitting

Using double pointed needles and bulky alpaca yarn these knit up quickly. Mittens make a great portable knitting project. Make one mitten and the second at home. Materials fee of $27 due at first class and covers all supplies to make a pair of mittens. Recent previous knitting experience required.

Socks make great portable knitting projects. Knit from the cuff down using double pointed needles and washable wool. Recent previous knitting experience required. Experience on double pointed needles is helpful but not required. A $24 materials fee is payable to the instructor at the first class.
