Downtown Alley Improvement Project Weekly Updates & Survey, PW&NR
June 17, 2010 - Thank you to everyone who has participated in the process so far, you have provided valuable information. At this time, the on-line survey has been closed to allow time to analyze the data for use in the upcoming design charette. The design consultants have been busy over the last six weeks gathering existing alley information including electrical services, parking lot configurations, breezeway details and drainage patterns just to name a few. They are finalizing the Existing Conditions and Opportunities Report which is expected to be posted on the web site before the end of the June.
The upcoming design charette will be held June 30, 2010 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Chamber of Commerce Building, 528 Main Street. This will be an open meeting with the team discussing general strategies and design opportunities to guide the look and feel for the new alleys. These ideas will be demonstrated using real time rendering and the information will be posted on the web site following the meeting.
May 13, 2010 - To keep the public up to date on the progress of the project, a website has been created, which can be accessed at: www.longmontalleys.com. This site includes a calendar of events, an on-line survey, an area to provide comments and suggestions as well as a “What’s New” area that provides updates for weekly activities. Visitors to the web site can also sign up to be included on an email list which will provide reminders for public events as well as general information updates.
