Multi-Modal Transportation Plan identifies specific transportation facility and service investments that will be made by the city over the next 20 years The Multi-modal Plan addresses four primary transportation modes: pedestrian, bicycle, transit, and automobile.

Transit Information
The Regional
Transportation District (RTD) provides transit services in the City, including Call-n-Ride information.
Special Transit also provides door through door service within the City.
RideArrangers from DRCOG (Denver Regional Council of Governments) RideArrangers helps businesses and individuals avoid traffic congestion and reduce pollution by promoting and providing transportation options such as carpool matching, vanpools, telework programs, schoolpools, guaranteed ride home, bike to work day.

FasTracks Project
The FasTracks plan includes rapid transit (commuter- or light-rail) in six corridors throughout the Denver Region. One of the corridors includes US-36 from Denver to Boulder and the Diagonal Highway (SH-119) from Boulder to Longmont. FasTracks includes a commuter-rail connection from Denver through Boulder to Longmont via the existing Burlington Northern/Santa Fe Railroad line.

Alternative Modes of Transportation
Developing
current and future bikeway routing throughout the City through the Alternative
Modes Map (for existing bicycle routes and the
Bikeways Map - contact the Public Works and Natural Resouces for a free bike map). The City also works with a citizen group, Bicycle
Longmont, to help coordinate planning and maintenance of the bicycle system
in the City.
Transportation
Demand Management (TDM) strategies help better utilize the roadway system
so fewer tax dollars are spent on road building.
