- As of December, 2012 participation in the Master Plan has had the following representation:
- 719 documented responses
- 98 youth questionnaires (18 and under)
- Majority of respondents are adults, ages 25-44
- 18% of respondents identify as Hispanic/Latino
- 63% identify as homeowners, 10% renters, 27% not known/visitor
- Spending time in green environments can relieve not only anxiety and stress, but also sadness and depression. (Parks and Other Green Environments: Essential Components of a Healthy Human Habitat, Frances E. (Ming) Kuo 2010)
- Research on the brain demonstrates that play is a scaffold for development, a vehicle for increasing neural structures, and a means by which all children practice skills they will need in later life. (Association for Childhood Education International)
- The presence of a greenbelt in a Boulder neighborhood was found to add approximately $500,000 in property tax revenue annually. (Parks and Economic Development, John Crompton 2001)
- 25% of Longmont's population identified as Hispanic or Latino (2010 Census)
- 19% of Longmont's population speak Spanish at home (2010 American Community Survey)
- 29% of the City's population is under 19 years old (2010 Census)
