Curbside Tree Limb Collection Event Starts April 7

March 28, 2014 - Each spring, City of Longmont Sanitation offers residents the convenience of free, curbside branch collection. This year’s event will occur April 7 - 18. Bundled limbs will be picked up at residences north of 9th Avenue, the week of April 7 and south of 9th Avenue, the week of April 14.

• Place bundled tree limbs out at curbside by 7 a.m. on the Monday of your scheduled collection week for pick-up some time during that week
• Bundle all limbs together, with no bundle larger than three feet in diameter
• Place limb bundles in the gutter, off of the sidewalk, and no closer than two feet from any fence, building or any obstacle that would interfere with the collection of the pile
• Cut limbs into lengths no longer than six feet (no limb may be larger than six inches in diameter)

• Put your branches out too soon; municipal code prohibits placing items in the street prior to the Saturday before special collections
• Place limbs in yards, alleys or on private property… they will not be collected
• Include leaves, trash or other debris in your bundle
• Put your bundle out after your scheduled collection week… we only make one pass, so be ready

What if you miss the one-time, curbside collection?

An additional option for branch and limb disposal is the City of Longmont’s Waste Diversion Center, located at 140 Martin Street. There is no usage charge if you take your recent City of Longmont residential utility bill showing that you are a sanitation customer. Be prepared to also show identification to match the utility bill.
