AUGUST 16, 2012 - The Recreation Center Skate Park has been repaired and will re-open Friday, August 17, 2012.
The Recreation Center Skate Park as well as the Skate Park at Clark Centennial Park were closed in April, 2012 due to safety hazards. Since that time the City hired an independent consultant to conduct an assessment of the Skate Parks, which determined the Skate Park at Clark Centennial Park was beyond repair, but the Recreation Center Skate Park could be rehabilitated and re-opened. The repairs are a short-term fix, long-term solutions regarding the City’s skate parks will be evaluated during the Parks, Recreation and Trails Master Plan.
