Gas Line Repair to Hinder Traffic on Hover Street
SEPTEMBER 14, 2012 -
Xcel Energy is repairing a section of a natural gas line that will hinder traffic for the next few days.
Xcel has begun to excavate and repair a section of their natural gas pipeline on Hover Street between Clover basin Drive and Ken Pratt Boulevard (HWY 119). Xcel regularly assesses their natural gas transmission pipelines, and feel this section requires immediate attention.
Construction on Hover Street will start on Saturday, September 15 and continue through Saturday, September 22. It is expected that one southbound lane will be shut down during the duration of the project. Northbound traffic lanes on Hover Street will not be affected.
Traffic delays will likely occur. Excel will make every effort to maintain access to all businesses throughout this work. If business access is affected for any significant period of time, they will contact the business owners in advance.
Businesses and residents in the area will not experience interruption of natural gas service during this project. "We understand this construction can be an inconvenience for you, but we want to quickly repair this section of pipe," Excel representatives said. "In addition, our construction crews can take advantage of the good weather to work quickly and safely."
Xcel is coordinating with the city’s public works department to minimize the effect of this project on residents and businesses in the area.
Call the Xcel Right of Way and Permits Department at 303-898-5028 for questions or concerns.
