APRIL 1, 2011 - A public meeting to discuss Open Space is scheduled for April 11, 2011 at the City's Parks and Recreation Advisory Board Meeting at 7 pm at 7 So. Sunset Street, Parks Building. The intent of the meeting is to discuss and solicit comments from the public related to the recent Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with Boulder County.
Simply put, the IGA calls for the City of Longmont to transfer 78 acres, in fee, to Schlagel family for continued agricultural operations. In return, the Schagel family with sell their property, approximately 300 acres to Boulder County. At the time they sell there property to Boulder County, Boulder County will grant the City of Longmont a Conservation Easement on 213 acres of the Schlagel Farm. The City of Longmont will retain a Conservation Easement on the 78 acres granted to the Schlagel family.

This public meeting and notification fulfills the Ordinance requirements for the Disposition of Open Space as stated in Ordinance O-2011-10.
