President Shaffer to Speak with City Council on Economic Issues

DECEMBER 17, 2010 - At the City Council meeting on Tuesday, December 21, President of the Colorado Senate, Brandon Shaffer will speak to the Longmont City Council about potential economic development for the Longmont area, specifically about the new NASA Manufacturing Park that will be coming to northern Colorado. NASA and the Colorado Association of Manufacturing and Technology (CAMT) recently signed an agreement to start a manufacturing innovation program, which could create thousands of jobs over the next five years.

President Shaffer will be accompanied by Don Marostica, director of Colorado's Office of Economic Development and International Trade and the two will speak at the beginning of the meeting, during the City Manager's Report. The Longmont City Council meeting will be held on Tuesday, December 21 at 7:00 p.m. at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street.
