Rogers Road to Close as Part of Lykins Restoration Project

Road Closure - Detour AheadAPRIL 5, 2010 - Rogers Road will be closed east of Airport Road on Wednesday April 7 to accommodate construction of the Lykins Gulch Stream Restoration project, including a realignment of one half-mile of Rogers Road from Airport Road east.  The road is expected to be closed for 5 days as the realigned portion of Rogers Road is being paved.  Rogers Road from Hover Street west will remain open to local traffic only.  The western one half mile of Rogers Road will be closed to the public.

Detour routes between Airport Road and Hover Street will be along Ninth Avenue and along Nelson Road during the closure.

The Lykins Gulch Stream Restoration Project will reconstruct a natural meandering channel from the St. Vrain River near Golden Ponds Park and Nature Area southwesterly to the intersection of Airport Road and Rogers Road. The total project is expected to run through September 2010.

A local contractor, Golden Triangle Construction, Inc. is the general contractor for the project. Any questions about the project may be directed to the project manager for the City of Longmont, David Hollingsworth at 303-651-8328.
