July 3, 2010 - The Longmont Recreation Center at 310 Quail Road was closed today due to an incident in the center. The Recreation Center will be closed through tomorrow, July 4, 2010. All outdoor pool facilities will be open on July 4th as previously scheduled. The Recreation Center will reopen at regular business hours on Monday, July 5, 2010.
Saturday, July 3, 2010, at 1:17p.m. life guards at the Longmont Recreation Center discovered an unresponsive male in the hot tub. Life guards pulled the adult male from the pool and performed CPR. They also deployed an Automatic Electronic Defibrillator device. Longmont Fire and paramedic personnel responded and continued emergency care on the victim. He was transported to Longmont United Hospital. The victim could not be revived and passed away. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Boulder County Coroner's office. The victim's name is being withheld pending the notification of family members.
