FLEX - New Transit Route Connects Northern Colorado into Denver Metro
MAY 20, 2010 - Through a regional partnership, a new transit route, FLEX, will connect the following cities via Highway 287: Fort Collins, Loveland, Berthoud and Longmont. Never before hasthe Northern Front Range been completely connected through transit, Riders can expect to find the route offers commuter-friendly, convenient, and economical access to a variety of places along the Northern Front Range and into the Denver Metropolitan Area. The project is federally funded through a Congestion Mitigation Air Quality grant and serves as a pilot test over the next two years todetermine if the service is warranted and can be successful.
Highlights:
Operations begin: June 7, 2010 - will offer service Monday through Saturday
Service: FLEX offers a variety of options to maximize convenience and accessibility to communities in Northern Colorado. During peak morning and evening times, an express route will serve primary stops between Fort Collins and Longmont. Mid-day, FLEX will provide basic service between Fort Collins and Loveland. Fares: A single ride on FLEX will cost $1.25; RTD’s Eco Pass, Transfort and COLT passes will also be accepted.
Transfers: Passengers may transfer to and from FLEX on to COLT and Transfort systems. Passengers will need to pay RTD fare or use an RTD pass to board the RTD system.
