Tuesday City Council Meeting Cancelled

Several members of the Longmont City Council are attending the annual Colorado Municipal League (CML) conference next week and the June 17 council meeting is cancelled. Founded in 1923, the Colorado Municipal League is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization providing services and resources to assist municipal officials in managing their governments and serving the cities and towns of Colorado.

Shredding Event on Saturday

Safely recycle your personal documents at no charge. Bring your boxed or bagged papers to the Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street between 9 am and 2 pm on Saturday, June 14. Please also bring identification and a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Volunteer at Rhythm on the River

Join more than 300 citizen volunteers to help make this year’s Rhythm on the River festival, July 11 and 12 at Roger’s Grove, a huge success! St Vrain Creek Masterplan Meeting on Thursday

The St. Vrain Creek Coalition will hold a community meeting regarding the master planning process for St. Vrain Creek from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday, June 19, in Barn A at the Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road. The master plan will help determine what happens after spring run-off, what the next step is for creek recovery, what the final creek and road alignments will be, and how agencies, landowners, and the community will work together. Public Invited to Discuss Golf Fees

The public is invited to attend the Longmont Golf Course Advisory Board meeting at 7 pm on Monday, June 23, at the Twin Peaks Golf Course clubhouse, 1200 Cornell Drive, for a discussion of proposed 2015 fees. More information is available at

Vote in the June 24 Election

The City of Longmont is conducting a special election regarding the issuance of bonds to help finance storm drainage improvements. All active Longmont voters, regardless of party affiliation, should have received a mail ballot with the Longmont question. If you have not yet received your ballot or if you are an unaffiliated voter and would like to participate in a party primary in addition to voting in the Longmont Special Election, please contact the Boulder County Clerk and Recorder at 303-413-7740.

StART Walking and Biking Art Tours

You’re invited to join Art in Public Places on foot or on bike to learn about the extensive public artwork in Longmont. Free tours are 60 to 90 minutes at a comfortable pace. At 8:30 am on Saturday, June 21, StART Walking from the Left Hand Creek Park pavilion, 1800 Creekside Drive. At noon on Wednesday, June 25, StART Biking at the Civic Center plaza, 350 Kimbark Street.
