Outdoor Warning System Test on Monday

The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) is being tested at 10 am on Monday, May 5. The system is tested the first Monday of every month, April through August. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it isn’t the first Monday of the month at 10 am, seek shelter immediately and tune to local media for information.

St. Vrain Mobile Home Park Recovery Meeting

The City of Longmont will hold a flood recovery meeting at 6 pm on Wednesday, May 7, at Twin Peaks Charter Academy, 340 S. Sunset Street. Enter on the north side by Francis Street. Apply Now for a City Board or Commission

The City of Longmont can use your passion, your opinions, and your desire to share in the vision for our community. City Council is recruiting to fill vacancies on several advisory boards and commissions. Applicants must be registered voters and residents of Longmont for at least one year prior to serving and willing to serve for terms that last from one to five years. Celebrate Longmont Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 3

Celebrate Longmont Cinco de Mayo on Saturday, May 3, noon to 6 pm at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. This year’s 12th annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration aims to create awareness of the many diverse cultures that exist in our county and create a better understanding and recognition of the contributions of Latino culture in Longmont. Longmont’s Cinco de Mayo has a long history of being a healthy, family-oriented, alcohol- and tobacco-free event. Enjoy musical and dance groups, vendor and information booths, the famous Chihuahua costume contest, and lots of great food. Visit

Business BootCamp Scholarships Available

Make your business stronger and more profitable at the 2½-day Destination Business BootCamp®. Existing retailers, restaurateurs, and small business owners will learn Jon Schallert’s proprietary 14-step strategy to make their business a dominant destination business. A limited number of scholarships are available to owners of Longmont restaurants and retail stores. (Some restrictions apply.) The BootCamp will be held May 13-15 at the Marriott Complex in Longmont. Make Your Park Shelter Reservations Online

Recreation Services is your one-stop shop for reserving a park shelter in Longmont for birthday parties, family celebrations and summer picnics. Save time! Make your park shelter reservations online at The cost is $35 per day (resident fee) for small shelters and $25 per hour or $200 per day for the large shelter at Sandstone Ranch and the Roosevelt Park Pavilion. Free Landfill Drop Day on May 10

The City of Longmont is offering residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 10. Loads must be covered and secured for transport; oversize loads and second loads will be billed. Please take a copy of your current utility bill and a photo ID to show that you are a City of Longmont customer.
