Sponsors Needed for Longmont Hackathon
Take a hack at improving local government services by participating in the Longmont Hackathon during the weekend beginning April 12 at Skyline High School. Organizers are working with sponsors to provide awards for the most innovative software ideas. Free Sales and Use Tax Seminar
Do you have questions about the business sales and use tax in Longmont? A free seminar that will answer all your questions will be held from noon to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, March 13, in the Study Session Room at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street. Topics include sales tax basics, use tax overview, point of taxation information, and manufacturing and R&D exemptions. Attendees will be entered into a drawing for a Downtown Longmont gift card. Volunteer to be a Victim Advocate
The Longmont Department of Public Safety is recruiting volunteer victim advocates, who are on call to respond to help families in crisis. You may be helping a victim of domestic violence, comforting a family who unexpectedly lost a loved one, or meeting with a victim of crime who needs support. Second-Saturday Free Day at the Museum
On Saturday, March 9, admission to the Longmont Museum’s special exhibition American Visionaries: Dorothea Lange and Maynard Dixon will be free of charge. This is a unique opportunity to see the work of these two renowned American artists of the 1930s and 1940s. The Museum is at 400 Quail Road, just east of Main Street.
