Xcel Energy Repairing Gas Outage

Approximately 6,000 households in the Niwot/Gunbarrel area (including some homes in City of Boulder limits) may have lost natural gas delivery to their homes today, Dec. 6. Xcel Energy is taking the lead in communicating directly to its customers and it has released the boundaries of the affected areas:
• Niwot on the north
• 95th on east
• Jay road on the south
• 47th Street on the west

For the latest information visit www.xcelenergy.com/Outages/Report_a_Problem or call Xcel at 1-800-895-2999.

Golden Ponds Closed Through December 15; Sunset St. Bridge Planning Underway

Golden Ponds District Park is scheduled to remain closed until at least Sunday, December 15, depending on the weather. Contractors are working in the park to repair flood damage. In addition, the City of Longmont has entered into an agreement with Boulder County to serve as the lead agency responsible for the design and construction of the Sunset St. bridge. It is anticipated that the design process for this project will be initiated just as soon as funding options have been determined. Assuming that funding options are determined in a timely manner, it is feasible that this bridge could be constructed by the end of 2014. You can keep up with the progress of flood damage repair with the interactive map located at www.ci.longmont.co.us/flood-info.
