Household Hazardous Chemical Drop-off Day
The City will host a special Household Hazardous Chemical Drop-off Day at the Public Works Maintenance Facility, 375 Airport Road, from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday November 2. Longmont residents can bring cleaners, solvents, pesticides, aerosol cans, paint and other chemical wastes generated from their homes for proper disposal. You must bring your current City of Longmont utility bill to the event as the program is available only to Longmont refuse collection customers; no business wastes accepted. Shredding Event on Saturday
The Longmont Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street will hold a free shredding event from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, November 2. Please bring a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill to show that you pay the waste management fee. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Flood Debris Collection Ends November 4
The City of Longmont will end neighborhood flood debris waste collections in the affected flood areas on Monday, November 4, 2013. Please place your remaining flood related debris curbside or in the roll-off container in your area before November 4.
If you are in need of additional disposal services after November 4:
· Contact local private waste haulers for service or dispose of your materials at the landfill.
· Dispose of yard waste materials at the city’s Waste Diversion Center for no charge.
· Drop off paints, solvents and chemicals at the Boulder County Hazardous Waste Disposal Facility (720-564-2251) for no charge.

FEMA Deadline is Near
The deadline for residents affected by the September flood to register with FEMA is Thursday, November 14. Register online at www.DisasterAssistance.gov or call 1-800-621-3362.

Flood waters caused significant damage to the St. Vrain Greenway in September and repair work is underway in many areas. However, long stretches of the greenway are closed to foot and bike traffic. See a map of park and trail closures at www.ci.longmont.co.us/flood-info/facilities_parks.htm.

Homeowners Association (HOA) Training at Senior Center
Learn about recent legislation that affects the operation of your HOA, including updated collection policies that must be in place by January 1, as well as how to transition HOA control from the developer to the residents. Celebrate Day of the Dead at Museum
Colorado’s largest Day of the Dead celebration takes place at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, from 10 am to 5 pm on Saturday, November 2. Enjoy live entertainment, including music and dancing, sugar skull decorating, traditional food, community altars, paper flower making, Día de los Muertos face painting, and much more!
