Longmont Airport Expo on June 22
Join your friends and neighbors at the 2013 Longmont Airport Expo, Vance Brand airport’s biennial airshow and fly-in. The Expo will feature aircraft from a five-state area, top level aerobatic performers, antique aircraft, vendors, food, and much, more! Grab a front row seat and see everything from vintage biplanes to general aviation aircraft, jets, helicopters, cars, motorcycles, and more - all up close and personal, without the crowds you’ll find at the bigger airshows on Saturday, June 22, 2013, from 7 am to 4 pm.
First Annual Pull for Colorado Weed Pull
Come and join the City of Longmont Natural Resources Division on Saturday, July 20 from 9 am to Noon at beautiful Button Rock Preserve for a day of noxious weed education and pulling. This first annual event is part of a statewide campaign called Pulling for Colorado. The day will begin at 9 am with noxious weed identification training. Afterwards, we will join with our community to pull noxious weeds in the foothills that are threatening Button Rock Preserve and conclude at noon. There will be food, refreshments, and giveaways. Please bring leather gloves and a shovel and dress for working in tall, scratchy vegetation. Please RSVP to Natalie Wehrwein by July 15, 2013 by email at Natalie.Wehrwein@ci.longmont.co.us or by phone at 303-774-4867.

RTD Telephone Town Hall Meeting on June 19
The Regional Transportation District (RTD) is kicking off the Northwest Area Mobility Study that will result in a prioritized list of mobility improvements for the Northwest area. The goal of the study is to collaborate with corridor stakeholders to determine if there is a more cost-effective way to approach improving mobility in the area that could be implemented sooner. The telephone town hall takes place Wednesday, June 19, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Anyone can participate in the town hall by dialing toll free 1-877-299-8493, and entering the ID code 19081. In addition, 50,000 residents in the northwest metro area will be called at random through an automated system and invited to participate in the public telephone forum.

Beware of Utility Billing Scams
Some Longmont utility customers have reported receiving telephone calls demanding immediate payment of their utility bills over the phone or their service will be cut off. You will never receive a call like this from the City of Longmont, and any Longmont employee who comes to your door will have identification and be driving a marked City vehicle. If in doubt, call the Utility Billing office at 303-651-8664 or visit the payment window at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street.
