Free Landfill Drop Day on Saturday

The City of Longmont is offering residents an opportunity to take one level pickup load free of charge to the Front Range Landfill at 1830 Weld County Rd 5 in Erie from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday, May 11. Please take a copy of your current utility bill and a photo ID to show that you are a City of Longmont customer. For more information call 303-651-8416.

Free Sales and Use Tax Seminar on May 15

Do you have questions about the business sales and use tax in Longmont? A free seminar that will answer all your questions will be held from noon to 1:30 pm on Wednesday, May 15, in the Study Session Room at the Civic Center, 350 Kimbark Street. Second-Saturday Free Day at the Museum

On Saturday, May 11, the Longmont Museum’s special exhibition AmericanVisionaries: Dorothea Lange and Maynard Dixon will be open free of charge. This is the last free day before the exhibition closes on May 26. The Museum is located at 400 Quail Road, just east of Main in south Longmont. Crime-Free Multi Housing Training Offered

The Longmont Police Department and Community and Neighborhood Resources Division will host free Crime Free Multi-Housing Training from 7:30 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, May 21, at the Xilinx Retreat Center, 3100 Logic Drive. The Crime Free Multi-Housing Program helps owners and managers of rental properties keep drugs and other illegal activity off their properties and improve residents’ quality of life through crime reduction. Ages 15 and Younger Invited to Youth Fishing Derby

Longmont Recreation Services and the Colorado Department of Wildlife invite youth ages 15 and younger to a morning of fishing clinics and fishing fun on Saturday, May 11, at the Longmont Recreation Center pond, 310 Quail Road. The $5 entry fee includes five 10-minute clinics and a fishing pole (limited quantities). Call 303-774-4800 to register or for more information. Check-in begins at 8:30 am, the event begins at 9 am, and judging begins at 11 am.

Citizens Volunteer Patrol Training Scheduled

Want to make a difference in the safety of the Longmont community? The Citizens Volunteer Patrol (CVP) is preparing to select and train its sixth class of volunteers. CVP members serve as “eyes and ears” for police patrol operations while performing a wide variety of duties. The CVP Training Academy is held on Tuesday evenings beginning in mid-September.
