Coffee with Council at Panera Bread on Saturday
Longmont City Council is hosting Coffee with Council from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, January 26, at Panera Bread, 425 Ken Pratt Boulevard. At Coffee with Council, you can talk informally with at least two council members on any topic of your choice. Mayor Dennis Coombs and Council Member Katie Witt are scheduled to attend. Apply Now for Board Vacancies
The City Clerk’s Office is recruiting volunteers to fill vacancies on the Board of Environmental Affairs, the Golf Course Advisory Board and the Visit Longmont Board. Small Wonders Preschool Open House on Feb. 5
The state-licensed Small Wonders Preschool operated by Longmont Recreation Services will accept registration for the 2013-2014 school year beginning at 8 am on Tuesday, February 5, at the St. Vrain Memorial Building, 700 Longs Peak Ave. An open house will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 pm that evening. Both Monday/Wednesday/Friday and Tuesday/Thursday morning and afternoon classes are offered for preschoolers age 3 to 5. Free "Business Plan Essentials" Workshop at Chamber
This workshop, from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, February 5, at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce, 528 Main Street, will help you complete or refine your business plan with an emphasis on understanding your market and developing financials. This is a must for any entrepreneur, especially those seeking funding or in the early stages of business growth. Cost is $45 for non-Chamber members, $35 for Chamber members, and free for Longmont businesses and those starting a business in Longmont. Register at www.bouldersbdc.com/workshops.html. Celebrate Chinese New Year in Longmont
The Asian-Pacific Association of Longmont presents the Chinese New Year – The Year of the Snake celebration on Saturday, February 23, 2013from 2 to 5 pm at Silver Creek High School located at 4901 Nelson Road. Highlights include:
- Lion Dance
- Kungfu
- Traditional dances
- Hip Hop/Gangnam
- QiGong
- Chinese music
- Arts and crafts activities
- Food tasting
Co-sponsors: St. Vrain Valley School District and the Longmont Multicultural Steering Committee. The event is free and seating is on a first-come basis.
