City Facilities Closed Christmas Day
Longmont city government observes Christmas Day on Tuesday, December 25, as a holiday. The following facilities are CLOSED: Civic Center, Service Center, Recreation Center, Memorial Building, Centennial Pool, Ice Pavilion, Senior Center, Library, Museum, Youth Center, Development Services Center, and Waste Diversion Center. Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday trash and recycling will be collected one day late. For more information visit www.ci.longmont.co.us.

City Council Meetings Cancelled During Holidays
The December 25 and January 1 city council meetings are cancelled for the Christmas and New Year holidays. The December 18 regular session will be the last city council meeting of the year. Gift Certificates Available at Rec Facilities
Looking for a special holiday gift? Consider a gift certificate with Longmont Recreation Services. Gift certificates can be purchased in any amount and can be redeemed in person, over the phone, and even online for drop-in classes, activity registration, and passes. Two After-Christmas Programs at Museum
Need a break from Winter Break? On Thursday, December 27, from 10 to 10:45 am, explore the history and mystery of electricity, including power safety tips and demonstrations, during a fun family presentation from Longmont Power & Communications. Then, on December 29 at 10:30 am and 1:30 pm, enjoy SPARX!, an exploration of the wonderful world of electricity and magnets. Program admission is $5. Both presentations will be held at the Longmont Museum, 400 Quail Road, near the Longmont Recreation Center.
