Public Invited to Coffee with Council on Saturday
Longmont City Council is hosting an informal chat over coffee from 9 to 10 am this Saturday, April 28, at Perky’s Coffee, 1515 Main Street. At Coffee with Council, you can talk with two council members on any topic of your choice. Council members Gabe Santos and Brian Bagley are scheduled to attend. Drop Off Unwanted Medicine at Longmont United Hospital
The City of Longmont and Longmont United Hospital are offering a free Pharmaceutical Drop-off event from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 28 in the main lobby of Longmont United Hospital at 1950 Mountain View Avenue. Please retain the labels that identify the medication but remove any personal information. All medications are accepted. Visit www.ci.longmont.co.us/pwwu/enviro/rx.htm for more information.

Hard to Recycle Event on Saturday
The City’s Department of Public Works & Natural Resources will hold a Hard-to-Recycle Event for materials that are not accepted for curbside recycling from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, April 28, at the Waste Diversion Center, 140 Martin Street. Materials accepted include computers, electronics and cell phones. There may be a fee for certain items. Bring a copy of your current utility bill to show that you pay the waste management fee. Volunteer for Downtown Clean & Green
The Downtown Longmont Clean & Green event is Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. Volunteers are needed to help clean up Main Street and around parking lots, alleys,breezeways, sidewalks, and other structures that need extra TLC to help them shine. Friday clean-up is from noon to 4 pm (lunch provided), and Saturday clean-up is from 8 am to noon (breakfast provided). Volunteers receive a free t-shirt! Cinco de Mayo Celebration at Roosevelt Park
Longmont’s 10th annual Cinco de Mayo celebration will be held from noon to 8 pm next Saturday, May 5, at Roosevelt Park, 700 Longs Peak Avenue. Enjoy music, dance, shopping, a car show, great food, and the famous Chihuahua contest. This is a healthy, family-oriented, alcohol- and tobacco-free event, and admission is free.
