Tree Limb Collection South of 9th Avenue

The annual citywide curbside tree limb collection continues for residents south of 9th Avenue during the week of April 16. Place bundled limbs curbside by 7 am on Monday for pick-up some time during that week. Shredding Event This Weekend

The Longmont Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street will hold a free shredding event from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 14. Please bring a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill to show that you pay the waste management fee. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Summer Rec Brochure Available on Sunday

Longmont Recreation Services’ Summer Recreation Brochure will be inserted into the Times-Call on Sunday, April 15, and will be available at Recreation facilities on Monday, April 16. Registration for summer programs begins on Tuesday, April 17. The Summer Recreation Brochure also is available online at www.ci.longmont.co.us/rec. For more information call 303-651-8404.

Celebrate Arbor Day and Earth Day

The public is invited to Thompson Park at 4th Avenue and Bross Street from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, April 21, to celebrate and learn more about Arbor Day and Earth Day. Enjoy an ”Edible Forest” lunch, a drum circle, live music, a huge Earth balloon, games, and the annual tree and rose sale. Habitat for Humanity and Recycle That will have a truck onsite to collect unused, unwanted and outdated goods. Call 303-651-8449 for more information.

Volunteer for Downtown Clean and Green

This year’s Downtown Longmont Clean & Green event will be on Friday and Saturday, April 27 and 28. Volunteers are needed to help clean up Main Street and around buildings, parking lots, alleys, breezeways, sidewalks, and other structures that need extra TLC to help them shine. Come with a friend or form a team and make downtown a beautiful and vibrant destination for everyone. Friday clean-up is from noon to 4 pm (lunch provided), and Saturday clean-up is from 8 am to noon (breakfast provided). All volunteers receive a free Clean & Green t-shirt!
