You're Invited to a Telephone Town Hall Meeting
At 7 pm on Thursday, February 16, the City of Longmont will host a telephone town hall meeting to ask residents’ opinions on ideas proposed for the City’s “Focus on Longmont” strategic plan update. The meeting will take place in the City Council Chambers, 350 Kimbark Street, and calls also will be made to all residents of Longmont. Just answer your phone to participate, or call in to the meeting at 1-888-886-6603, ext. 17764#. Free Shredding Event on Saturday
The Longmont Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street will hold a free shredding event from 9 am to 2 pm on Saturday, February 11. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Please bring a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill to show that you pay the waste management fee. Library to Experience Some Service Interruptions
The Longmont Public Library will undergo a major software upgrade on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 14 and 15. There will be periods when automated systems will not function. Services that will be unavailable include catalog search, placing holds and reservations, renewals and check-ins, self-checkout, paying fines, online databases, accessing accounts online, telephone renewals, and email. Check-out at the Circulation Desk and computer lab services will be limited. Your understanding and patience will be appreciated.
Water Board Vacancy
The Longmont City Council is recruiting to fill a vacancy on the Water Board. This position is an unexpired regular term ending December 31, 2016, and applicants must be registered voters of Longmont for at least one year prior to serving. Two-for-One at the Ice Pavilion on Saturday
From 10 am to 6:45 pm on Saturday, February 11, enjoy two-for-one admission and ice skate rental at the Longmont Ice Pavilion, 725 8th Avenue.
