Longmont Launches Shop Local Campaign
In an effort to support Longmont businesses and educate the public about the importance of local sales tax, the City of Longmont has launched a shop local marketing campaign. There are two messages that the campaign is focused on:
When you shop Longmont, you support local businesses and when you shop Longmont, you support local City services including police and fire protection, street maintenance and construction, parks, trails, open space, youth and senior services, library and recreation programs. Approximately 40 percent of the revenue in the City’s annual operating budget comes from sales and use tax. In order to maintain the high level of municipal services that Longmont residents have come to expect, sales tax dollars need to stay within our borders.

Tree Lighting in Downtown Longmont on Friday Night
Come downtown for the Downtown Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, November 25 at 7pm at 6th Ave and Main St. There are several holiday antagonists who have threatened to steal our holiday cheer. Bring your friends and family to this great event to help keep Longmont’s holiday spirit alive! Festivities at the tree lighting include appearances by Scrooge, the Grinch, Frosty the Snowman, The Snow King and Queen, Santa and friends as well as holiday caroling, live ice sculpture carving and horse drawn carriage rides.
