Free Landfill Drop Day on Saturday

Longmont residents may take one regular pickup truck size load to the Front Range Landfill located in nearby Erie for free on Saturday, September 10. Longmont residents must show a drivers license with a Longmont address and a copy of the current utility bill in order to avoid being charged. Be sure to cover the load or you may receive a ticket. The landfill is just a short drive from Longmont and it is located at 1830 Weld County Road 5 and the phone number is 303-828-9400. The landfill is open from 6 am to 2 pm on Saturday.

North I-25 Public Meeting

The Colorado Department of Transportation will hold a public meeting from 4:30 to 7 pm on Tuesday, September 13, at the Longmont Public Library, 409 4th Avenue, to discuss the North I-25 Final Environmental Impact Statement. The purpose of the study is to identify transportation improvements that will address mobility, accessibility, safety, and the aging infrastructure along I-25. The event will begin with a brief presentation followed by the opportunity for public comment beginning at 5:30. For more information, visit www.coloradodot.info/projects/north-i-25-eis.

LEVI Benefit Concert to Feature Fab 4

You can support domestic violence prevention, education and victim assistance in Longmont at the LEVI (Longmont Ending Violence Initiative) annual fundraiser on Saturday, September 17, at Left Hand Brewing Company, 1265 Boston Avenue. Workforce Housing Task Force Deadline Approaching

This Friday, September 16, is the deadline to apply for membership on the Ad Hoc Workforce Housing Task Force. Volunteer task force members will serve through approximately July 2012 and will provide recommendations to city council about options for workforce housing programs.
