Free Shredding Service on Saturday

The Longmont Waste Diversion Center at 140 Martin Street will hold a free shredding event from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday, August 20. This event is for residential documents only; no business materials will be accepted. Please bring a copy of your most recent Longmont utility bill to show that you pay the waste management fee. Bridges Out of Poverty Training

The Circles campaign to eliminate poverty one family at a time presents ally training from 6 to 8 pm on Wednesday, August 24, at First United Methodist Church, 350 11th Avenue. Recreation Buildings to Close for Maintenance

Sunday, August 21, will be the final day for Kanemoto and Roosevelt activity pools. The St. Vrain Memorial Building is closed for annual maintenance through August 20, and Centennial Pool will close August 20 through 28. Volunteers Needed for Energy Sweep

The next Energy Sweep is coming to Longmont’s Lanyon Park neighborhood on Saturday, August 27. From 10 am to 3 pm, volunteers will be going door to door installing energy saving measures that reduce your utility bill. If you would like to volunteer to help call Ellen at 720-864-6423.

HOA Training: Legal Update

The public is invited to a free presentation at 7 pm on Thursday, August 25, at the Longmont Senior Center, 910 Longs Peak Avenue, to get an update on important new laws that affect homeowner associations. This seminar is presented by the HindmanSanchez law firm and sponsored by the City of Longmont’s Division of Community and Neighborhood Resources and the Neighborhood Group Leaders Association.
