No Coffee with Council This Month
The next Coffee with Council, scheduled for Saturday, July 30, has been cancelled so that city council members can attend the Boulder County Fair Parade. The next Coffee with Council will be from 9 to 10 am on Saturday, August 27, at Chick-fil-A, 215 Ken Pratt Boulevard.

Stop-N-Drop on Saturday
A Large Item Stop-N-Drop will be held from 8 am to 2 pm on Saturday, July 30, at the Public Works Maintenance Facility, 375 Airport Road. Residents can bring large and bulky household items for disposal, and City employees will unload your items for you. You must bring a City of Longmont utility bill as the program is available at no additional cost only to Longmont refuse collection customers. Outdoor Warning System Test on Monday
The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) is being tested at 10 am on Monday, August 1. The system is tested monthly through August; this will be final test in 2011. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it is not the first Monday of the month at 10 am, seek shelter immediately and tune to local media for information.

Free "Business Plan Essentials" Workshop
In partnership with the Longmont Economic Gardening Initiative (LEGI), the Boulder Small Business Development Center is offering workshops in Longmont that are free to Longmont businesses. These workshops are approved business training programs for the City’s Business Start-up Grant Program. “Business Plan Essentials” will be held at the Longmont Area Chamber of Commerce from 6 to 9 pm on Tuesday, August 9. National Night Out is Tuesday
From 7 to 10 pm on Tuesday, August 2, neighborhoods throughout Longmont will join with thousands of communities nationwide for the 28th annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. During this event, residents lock their doors, turn on outside lights, and spend the evening outside with neighbors. Many Longmont neighborhoods will host special events such as block parties, cookouts, parades, flashlight walks, contests, and more.
