Employees Go Door-to-Door with Flood Information
In an effort to sign people up for the City's emergency notification system, Longmont employees are going door-to-door in the most vulnerable locations for flooding, to encourage residents and business owners to register on the Everbridge emergency notification system. With the decrease in traditional land phone lines, it's important that people register their cell numbers and email addresses to receive emergency messages via email, text or voice messages. This effort is especially valuable now because of the potential for flooding in the coming weeks. Sign up for Everbridge at www.ci.longmont.co.us/police/massnotification.htm.

Outdoor Emergency Warning System to Test on Monday
The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) is being tested at 10 am on Monday, June 6. The system is tested the first Monday of every month through August. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it is not the first Monday of the month at 10 am, seek shelter immediately and tune to local media for information.

Input Sought on Union Reservoir Master Plan
The Union Reservoir Recreational Master Plan update needs your input! Master plan work began in 2007 and many things have changed since that process. A proposed plan based on these changes has been drafted for public review. Please join us for a deliberative discussion of the revised plan on Thursday, June 16 from 6 - 8 pm at the Longmont City Council Chambers, 350 Kimbark Street. We will provide background and weigh recreational program elements and locations at the Reservoir. Contact Paula Fitzgerald at 303-651-8448 or email at paula.fitzgerald@ci.longmont.co.us for more information.
