At Coffee with Council, you can talk with two council members on any topic of your choice. Council members Gabe Santos and Brian Hansen are scheduled to attend. Outdoor Warning System Test on Monday
The City’s Outdoor Emergency Warning System (OEWS) is being tested at 10 am on Monday, May 2. The system is tested at 10 am on the first Monday of every month through August. Other than for testing, the system will be used only to notify the community when immediate action should be taken. If you hear the sirens and it is not the first Monday of the month at 10 am, seek shelter immediately and tune to local media for information.
Artists Sought for Shock Art Project
The Art in Public Places Commission is seeking submissions from artists within the community for the upcoming Shock Art project! Shock Art will enhance five (otherwise green) selected electrical boxes in Longmont with painted creativity from community artists! Artists will be compensated with a $1500 stipend which includes all materials, and will be asked to complete the project during the month of July. ALL submissions will be on public display for community members to vote on in early June. For details and submission requirements, www.ci.longmont.co.us/museum/aipp/ShockArt2011.htm. Deadline for submissions is May 18, 2011.
Drop Unwanted Medication at LUH on Saturday
Don’t flush old or unused medication down the sink or toilet.
