Help with Census Forms Available
Census forms are being delivered through the U.S. mail during March. Complete the form and send it in by April 1, 2010! If you need help filling out your 2010 Census form, you can visit a Longmont Assistance Center through July 30. Assistance Centers will be open from March 19 through April 19. Dates, times and locations are listed on the City's Census Web page. For more information visit www.census2010.gov

Learn How to Bid on Government Jobs
Come learn how to sell goods, services and construction to three local government agencies. Purchasing staffs will be available on March 24 at the Longmont Civic Center from 3 to 5 p.m. to answer questions and provide assistance. Construction to Temporaraily Close Golden Ponds Nature Area
The Golden Ponds Nature Area will be closed to the public on Thursday March 18 and Friday March 19 to allow for the first phase of Platte River Power Authority power pole replacements. There are 2 poles within the park that need to be replaced. The park will be closed again from Tuesday April 6 to Friday April 9 for the second phase of this work. For your safety, please respect the posted closures. Please contact 303-651-8446 with any questions.

Senator Shaffer Joins Longmont's Google Effort
Colorado Senate President (and Longmont resident) Brandon Shaffer has endorsed Longmont's effort to attract Google to Longmont. Google is looking for a community to launch its experiment to bring better and faster Internet access to everyone. They are looking for a community to partner with to test ultra-high speed (over 1 gigabit per second) fiber-to-the-home broadband networks. From now until Friday, March 26, 2010, we're asking you to help nominate the City of Longmont by getting involved. For information visit www.ci.longmont.co.us/news/google_fiber.

Staff for Senator Michael Bennet To Hold "Conversations with Coloradans"
Staff for Michael Bennet, U.S. Senator for Colorado, want to hear from constituents in Northern Colorado and help those needing assistance with a federal agency. Bennet’s North Central Regional Representative James Thompson will be at Ziggi’s Coffee House, 400 Main St., Longmont, from 5 to 6 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, and available to meet with members of the public who would like to communicate information to Bennet or who are experiencing difficulty with a federal agency. No appointment is necessary, but if you would like to schedule one in advance please contact Thompson at 970-224-2200.
