SCIENCE CAMPS with CU Science Discovery

$195 residents, $240 nonresidents
DNA tests Crime Scene Investigation
Ages 9 to 11
July 19-23, 9 am-noon
Find and identify fingerprints, analyze colors, determine blood type, and examine fibers and other “invisible” evidence as your CSI team solves the case.
Frog Life in Ponds and Streams
Ages 6 to 8, June 14-18, 1-4 pm
You will visit a pond or a stream each day to find small and large aquatic creatures, and make clay animals and plaster casts of tracks you have discovered.
Dolphin Ocean Discovery
Ages 4 to 5
June 14-18, 9 am - noon
In this Junior Science Explorers class, explore water, whales, dolphins, and more through art projects, songs, games, and science experiments.
Kids' Chemistry
Ages 6 to 8
June 7-11, 1-4 pm
Measure, mix, and make a mess in surprising chemistry experiments. By investigating and experimenting, you’ll learn about atoms, molecules, elements, and compounds.
Super Duper Science
Ages 4 to 5
June 7-11, 9 am - noon
From atoms to insects, volcanoes, and electricity – get excited about science in this hands-on Junior Science Explorers class. Create chemical reactions, make slime and silly putty, play with physics, and launch Alka-Seltzer rockets!
Electronics
Ages 11 to 14
July 19-23, 1-4 pm
Learn about the capacitors, resistors, and transistors that run everything from iPods to supercomputers. Wire circuit boards and design a burglar alarm system.

ART & CULTURE CAMPS

Hunters, Artists, and Tipi Makers
Ages 7 to 10
July 26-30,
9 am-noon or 1-4 pm
Immerse yourself in Plains Indian life of yesterday and today. Practice your bow and arrow skills, help build a real tipi with a Kiowa tribal elder, create colorful objects, play native games, and host your own mini-powwow.
Searchers, Seekers, and Settlers
Ages 7 to 10
June 21-25, 9 am - 1 pm

June 28 - July 2,
9 am - 1 pm
Embark on an adventure out West. Along the way, you’ll gather trinkets for your “possibles” travel sack, work with blacksmiths, pan for gold, play games, meet a mountain man, and have your own rendezvous.

Art Lab: Mixed Media Mania!
Ages 8 to 11
July 12-16, 9 am- 1 pm
Mix it up! Use your imagination, a variety of art materials, and guidance from visiting artists in this wildly popular art fest. Surprises await all week, plus your own art show on Friday.

2-DAY ART CLASS
$50 residents, $60 nonresidents
Skateboard Deck Painting
Ages 9 to 13
July 8 - 9, 9 am-noon
Design and paint a new skateboard deck with a visiting guest artist. Complete your board with wheels and trucks at your favorite skate shop or hang your work of art on the wall.
