LPC's fiber network interfaces directly with the network that has been installed
in Loveland, Fort Collins, and Estes Park by Platte River Power Authority.
Through the use of the fiber system, each city and Platte River have access
to a highly reliable and fast network for the transfer of information.
Platte River also is capable of monitoring and controlling the electric transmission system through the fiber network. This provides increased reliability of the electric system to LPC and our customers.
Not only do the four cities and Platte River benefit from the network, but also any customer who accesses the network in any city can transfer that information to other locations connected by the fiber. Applications supported by this form of interconnection could be distance learning, telemedicine, video conferencing, and more. The options are almost limitless because of the capability provided by the fiber network.
