Electric Vehicle Charging Station Ribbon Cutting
When: May 24, 2014
Where: Longmont Museum, Longmont, CO
About: Join Longmont Power & Communications and the Longmont Museum to celebrate the installation of Longmont's first level 3 electric vehicle charger! The museum is also hosting a family event for the opening of their summer exhibit: Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. Visitors can learn about and drive electric vehicles from local dealerships as we officially open the charging station with a ribbon cutting ceremony. This free community event will take place 11AM-3PM and food will be provided.

Catch the Wind
When: April 26, 2014
Where: Sandstone Ranch, Longmont, CO
About: Join Longmont Power & Communications and Longmont Recreation Services to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Sandstone Ranch Visitor Center and harness the power of the wind!
Learn about the Renewable Power Purchase Program from LPC and better understand the science of wind with an interactive wind tunnel. Families and children can create their own kites, old-fashioned pinwheels, and dolls. Additionally, visitors will also have the chance to meet Benjamin Franklin as he talks about electric and kite safety.

Home and Garden Show
When: March 21-23, 2014
Where: Boulder County Fair Grounds, Longmont, CO
About: The Boulder County Home and Garden Show offers a variety of ideas and innovations to improve your living spaces. Builders, landscapers, and home improvement experts, along with a multitude of related products all have booths at this event.
LPC attends to provide customers with information and assistance for energy efficiency products and services, including EnergySmart home assessments, appliance rebates, LED lighting, and more.
EnergySmart at the Longmont Rec Center
When: January 13, 2014
Where: Longmont Recreational Center
About: Entering into the new year, LPC has made a resolution to work harder than ever to help customers save money and energy. We frequently set up information tables at various City locations, the Rec Center on this date, so our customers can have easier access to all that we have to offer.
EnergySmart is an organization that serves the entirety of Boulder County. They, along with LPC, offer residential and business audits to help customers understand the best ways to save money and energy at their homes or facilities. Lights on Parade
When: December 14, 2013
Where: Main Street
About: This parade is a celebration of the holiday season! This year, over 60 floats are dazzling Main street, including an illuminated truck from LPC and City Council. The truck demonstrates enthusiasm for fiber optic Broadband expansion to the community with the theme "Future's So Bright, We Gotta Wear Shades". City Council, family, and friends walk beside the truck handing out treats or wave and cheer from the bed of the truck as they help usher in the holidays.
This season, the City of Longmont is also decorating Roosevelt Park. The breathtaking lighting design and holiday illumination was funded, in part, by LPC.

Public Power Week
When: October 6-12, 2013
Where: Longmont Civic Center, 350 Kimbark St. 80501
About: Longmont Power & Communications (LPC) is celebrating more than 100 years of providing low-cost, reliable electricity to our customers. LPC also provides low cost broadband services to customers through City-owned fiber infrastructure.
As part of National Public Power Week, LPC invites you to visit our interactive energy education exhibits in the Civic Center mall. For more information about these exhibits and National Public Power week, please visit the Public Power Week page.
The Home Depot Children's Workshop
When: October 5, 2013 - 8:30AM-12PM
Where: 393 S. Hover Rd, Longmont
About: LPC will be at the event with information about energy efficient lighting options for home and business. We will also be sharing tips and answering questions about electric safety, and will have electric safety kits available as take-home items for those who visit our table.
When: September 20-21, 2013
Where: Roosevelt Park
About: Longmont Oktoberfest is hosted by Lefthand Brewery. The event includes live music, eating contests, children's activities and more. Donations will be accepted for Longmont Meals on Wheels, Longmont HOPE and Left Hand Brewing Foundations to aid flood victims.
LPC is providing free wi-fi for the event.

About: The FIREBALL RUN Adventurally Series is an action packed, one week, 2500 mile adventurally. The mission and destination based rally is filmed for broadcast and annually released on home video. This year, it kicks off from Longmont with a block party at the Marriott on Friday, meet and greet on Saturday, and run/parade on Sunday.
LPC is a sponsor for the VisitLongmont.org team. LPC is also providing bucket trucks, free wi-fi for the public, and direct connection high-speed internet so Fireball Run can live broadcast.
Hispanic Education Foundation Golf Tournament
When: September 22, 2013
Where: Ute Creek Golf Course
About: Hispanic Education Foundation is an organization dedicated to raising funds for scholarships to be awarded to local citizens. For the past 8 years, they have hosted a golf tournament in which all proceeds go to fund the scholarship program.
This year, LPC is sponsoring a hole and has an information table set up to answer questions and educate customers about energy programs.
Festival On Main
When: August 23, 2013
Where: Main Street, Longmont
About: Festival on Main is Downtown Longmont’s signature summer event with more than 18,000 people in attendance. The downtown district is closed to vehicles during the event and there’s always lots to do. Street performers appearing as live statues, jugglers, stilt walkers, a 14-foot bubble making machine, a climbing wall, a giant puppet, bounce houses, fire and aerial dancers and many more hands-on activities for the kids.
LPC has a tent where we showcase lighting options, energy facts and efficiency tips, and provide other information to our electric customers. LPC is also providing free wi-fi for the event.
Rhythm On The River
When: July 12-13, 2013
Where: Rogers Grove, Longmont
About: The event theme was created around the environment and the Jones's passions for the arts. In the beginning, a few vendors and two bands entertained visitors. Since that first year, the event has kept with the theme of educating the visitors through music, art and interactive components.
Every year, LPC has a tent in the Conservation Carnival section of the event where we showcase lighting options, energy facts and efficiency tips, and provide other information to our electric customers. This year, LPC is also providing free wi-fi for the event.
