Getting a library card
The Longmont Public Library will issue a new library card to anyone residing
in Colorado who shows proper identification. We require a photo ID and proof
of current address. The CO drivers license fulfills both requirements.
Patrons who are sixteen years old
and older need proof of CURRENT residence and a photo ID. These can be on
two separate documents. The document accompanying the photo ID can be anything
with a correct name and a current address:
- Valid CO drivers license
- Car registration
- Current mail (within the last two weeks)
- Printed checks
- Medicaid and Medicare cards
- Fishing license
Patrons under 16 years old need
a parent or guardian PRESENT to verify address and identification of child.
We will only provide library card registration forms to school classes via
the childrens department. We encourage patrons to be old enough to sign
their cards, but this is not mandatory. Patrons ages 16-17 are entered into
the computer as children, though they do not have to have their parent present.
