10/04/2013 - Longmont Opens Several Parks That Were Closed Due to Flooding
The City of Longmont is preparing to reopen several areas that were closed due to the September flooding (download the PDF map showing parks, trails and bike routes 4mb). In many spots these are just partial openings but it is a good sign that life is getting back to normal in many areas of the city. However, the public should remain cautious and respect the several areas that are restricted by temporary fencing. Many of these areas are severely damaged and unsafe for public use.
The City is planning several small block parties for next weekend to welcome the community back into the parks system. More details will be available soon.
