Fire Safety

Longmont Fire Department

Parents should be diligent about allowing children access to matches and lighters. Many times when a child is burned or dies in fire, the cause is a fire they set themselves.

school childrenMake sure you know where all the lighters and matches are in your house. Make sure they are locked up. It can take less than five minutes for a small fire to grow large enough to destroy an entire house. Taking the time to lock up matches or a lighter can make a difference.
