Grants and Loans, Longmont Economic Vitality

The Department of Economic Development has a number of programs to provide financial assistance to new or existing businesses.

Grants

Our grant programs are designed to assist retail sales tax generating businesses that occupy a store front in the City of Longmont.

Business Improvement Grants - The Business Improvement Grant, provides reimbursement to existing retail business (open at least two years) that are making physical improvements/upgrades to their property. This grant can provide reimbursement for up to 25% of eligible project costs, up to $7,500.

Business Start-up Grants - The Business Start-Up Grant, provides reimbursement up to $2,000 for eligible start up costs to new retail business (open less than two years) in Longmont.

Tourism Grant - The goal of this grant is to help build Longmont as a destination for visitors by generating incremental sales tax revenue through tourism, events and related activities. Grants are funded with revenue received through the City's portion of the Lodgers' Tax.

Loans

Small Business Lending Program - The Small Business Lending program is a partnership between the City of Longmont and the Colorado Enterprise Fund. This program is designed to provide loans up to $50,000 for business and non-profit organizations that have yet to qualify for traditional financing. Loans for typical small businesses and acquisition of real estate are available depending on the needs of the business.
