Board of Adjustments and Appeals
The Board of Adjustment and Appeals consists of five (5) regular members
and two (2) alternate members who are appointed to serve three (3) year terms.
The Board of Adjustment and Appeals is a quasi-judicial appellate board
which determines and provides interpretations and relief from perceived grievances
related to the City's zoning ordinances. The board's duties are to hear
and decide:
- appeals where it is perceived there was an error in any order, requirement,
or decision made by an administrative official or agency based on, or made
in the enforcement of, the City's zoning ordinances;
- requests for special exceptions, or for interpretations of, the zoning
map;
- requests for special exceptions for conditional use permits; and
- requests for variances from the terms of the zoning ordinances predicated
on special hardships.
