LEARN TO GROW AND CARE FOR ROSES
Kaz Ueno, the Gardener for the Longmont Memorial Rose Garden will be presenting educational sessions on Wednesday evenings about how to grow and care for roses. Please plan to attend on the following dates and times. The sessions will be held in the Senior Center, Room A, at Roosevelt Park. You may call 303-651-8450 for information.

The St Vrain Greenway trail will be closed west of Hover Street starting Thursday, August 26, 2010 to accommodate construction of the Lykins Gulch Drainage Project and the completion of a trail connection between the St Vrain Greenway and Airport Road. The trail is expected to be closed for approximately 1 month for this work.
A detour route between Hover Street and Golden Ponds will be open along 3rd Avenue Place during the trail closure, including the underpass at Hover Street. If you have any questions, please contact David Hollingsworth at 303-651-8328.
Dry Creek Community Park Phasing Change
A revision to the phasing plan for the park was discussed at the April 20 City Council meeting. An alternative phase 1 project including multi-use fields and the eastern playground was proposed and approved.

The St. Vrain Greenway trail is now constructed between Golden Ponds park and Sandstone Ranch. The trail is now just over 8 miles in length (see chart below).
No Dogs are allowed in the section of greenway between County Line Road and Sandstone Ranch (see below), so please leave your dogs at home or plan your route west of County Line Road 1.
The St. Vrain Greenway trail east of County Line Road has dog restrictions adopted by City Ordinance. Dogs will not be allowed on the portion of the trail east of County Line Road to Sandstone Ranch (pdf map of area) (approximately one mile of trail), on a leash or unleashed. Not able to recognize restraints such as leashes, wildlife views all dogs as predators and will leave the area. The Longmont City Council directed the restriction to protect this unique landscape, the wildlife in this area and its important wildlife habitats. When the trail is open, the approximately six miles of the St. Vrain Greenway trail from County Line Road west to Golden Ponds will be available to people and their leashed dogs.
