Stay Curious This Summer!

This isn't your usual summer reading program, rather, it is an opportunity to find out that

Longmont Public Library is more than meets the eye.

  • Saturdays, June 7, & July 5, at 9 pm - Go star gazing at Sandstone Ranch
  • Thursday, July 10, 7-8 pm. Greg Holsclaw, Research Scientist at CU will discuss his work on the Messenger Mission orbiting Mercury.
  • Thursday, July 24, 7-8:30 pm. Create an e-textile with Sparkfun! Registration is required. Call 303-651-8472,
  • Saturday, August 9, 1-3 pm. Adult Science Fair. Registration Required at 303-651-8472. No registration needed to attend.

Thursday, July 10 - Stay Curious with Greg Holsclaw, Research Scientist at the University of Colorado, Boulder.

Greg will discuss his work on the Messenger spacecraft that orbits the planet Mercury

Thursday, August 7, A Return from Grief.

Grief is universal. Everyone has lost someone they loved and felt the pain and emptiness that comes with that profound loss.  In A Return from Grief: Lessons of the Geese, author Nancy Williams will take you through her personal journey of loss and share her emergence from grief and into living once again.

Join Nancy Williams, Thursday, August 7th at 7pm on her journey to recovery, see how we learn to live with grief, how it lightens, even if it never goes away-and possibly find your own Return from Grief.




Saturday, August 9, Stay Curious Science Fair, 1-3 p.m.

This science fair is for grown-ups but kids can attend. Registration is required to enter but no registration is needed to attend. Must be 18 years of age or older to enter. A prominent panel of judges will award first, second and third prize ribbons.

During this event, a drawing will be held to award the Grand Prize telescope and other prizes to the luck winners.



August 14, Team Trivia at the Library 6:30-8 p.m.

Teams will test their trivia skills on various themes for prizes and bragging rights.  Start thinking of who you want on your team and what your name will be!  Teams will consist of 3 to 5 members and all members must be 12 or older.  Teams can register at the Reference Desk or by calling 303-651-8472.  There is a limit of 12 teams, so don’t delay!  Registration deadline is August 11, 2014
